Interface with govt which leads to corruption has declined as most processes have moved online, says Jaitley

Finance minister Arun Jaitley said that the whole concept of governance has witnessed a sea change which has led to decline in corruption. People from the industry no longer have the need to come and see me as most of the permissions have moved online, Jaitey said stressing the point that the government has cut discretions which gave rise to corruption. FIPB permissions have been ablosihed and investments flow in based on their own strength, Jaitley said. Jaitley said that the efforts on part of this government has led to reduction in interface with the government as most of the processes have moved online. He estimated that due to increase in the economic growth and the increased formalisation of the economy due to initiatives like demoetisation and the GST, the tax base has gone up.
